Industrial & Commercial Roofing

Asbestos Roofing

From the 1930s, asbestos roofing was often used in the roofs of older commercial and industrial buildings, and was very popular due to its insulation properties, but asbestos was made illegal too use in the UK in 1999 due to the health hazards associated with breathing the fibres into the lungs.

This means that there are many buildings in the UK that contain asbestos without their owner or manager necessarily being aware of the risks.

Barden Roofing is approved and UKATA certified to work with non-licenced asbestos, our work force is fully trained in repairs, management, removal and disposal of asbestos roof sheets and rainwater goods.

We are certified to take samples and send for testing to determine the type of asbestos, we test for white chrysotile (commonly referred to as ‘white asbestos’), once properly identifed we can advise on the correct course of action so to minimisie the risk of exposure to asbestos fibres to ourselves and everyone.

Refurbishment

Barden Roofing Services offer a comprehensive industrial and commercial over-cladding service, over-cladding is quick to install, cost effective and causes minimal disruption to companies wishing to carry on working within the premises.

Over-cladding is the process of applying a ‘second skin’ to your existing roofing system using metal sheeting or cladding, this ensures the roof is fully weather proof and any external damage is fully covered. Over-cladding can also enhance the overall aesthetic of the building with a range of colours, designs and finishes.

Over-cladding also offers an opportunity to improve the insulation and energy efficiency of your building.

We do also offer a strip and re-sheet service, which is the removal of the old asbestos roof sheets in a safe and controlled way and replacing it with a number of roofing systems.

We work with several guttering systems/coating solutions to refurbish and renew existing gutters.

Plygene Gutterline system, which is a seamless thermoplastic polymer liner with weldable outlets and stop ends. Providing a 25 year guaranteed, seamless “gutter within a gutter” system, Plygene Gutterline offers a bespoke solution with minimal building disruption and is an effective alternative to full gutter replacement. It is the only BBA certified gutter lining system approved for the harsh rigours of the gutter environment.

Giromax produce a range of painted coating systems not only used in gutters but in all roof and sidewall refurbishment as well as cut edge corrosion.

Cromapol is a fibre reinforced liquid acrylic resin dispersed in solvent designed to prevent the ingress of water. Due to the high level of fibres in Cromapol the coating will bridge small gaps and require only a one coat application to give instant waterproofing.
